Many dieters have a problem with snacking. They can eat properly during traditional meals, but faced with a few moments of boredom, and the desire to snack becomes overwhelming. If the time that this happens can be identified, it makes it that much easier to eliminate or change the habit. For example, if you find that between certain hours you are in the habit of watching a particular television show, and it’s at that time you tend to grab a bag of chips. You may want to replace the television habit with reading a book, or spending some time in the garden.
It’s easier to lose weight permanently if you can identify the habitual behavior causing you to snack, and change that behavior. Having will power to stay away from snacks will eventually faulter. Replacing activities that cause you to reach for snacks may be a better choice for permanent weight loss.
